This urn is made with purple heart and yellow heart wood. The main body is purple heart and it is trimmed in yellow heart. The bottom of the urn is made out of maple plywood and is trimmed in yellow heart wood. The top of the urn is secured to the body of the urn. In order to place the remains in the body of the urn you will unscrew the bottom of the urn.

The screws to hold the bottom on can be taken off with a phillip’s head screwdriver. We have placed a line on the bottom of the body of the urn, as well as, the bottom pieces of yellow heart and maple. The sides with the lines need to be lined up so the bottom will fit correctly. It is handcrafted so the holes have been drilled by hand too.
Over time the purple heart will darken towards a brown color. We have sealed the wood using danish oil and a spray varnish.
